Family Mediation Center
When a client first contacts Family Mediation Center, our staff will likely recommend that the parties set up an initial no cost consultation. The initial consultation is approximately one-half hour in duration and is conducted during regular office hours. All parties to the mediation are required to attend the initial consultation.
During the initial consultation the clients will be introduced to the mediator assigned to their case. The mediator will discuss the mediation process, its benefits, and how mediation could be utilized in the client’s specific case. The mediator will also answer any questions that the clients may have related to mediation.
The mediator will advise the clients if their case is suitable for mediation, hourly rates to be charged for mediation services, anticipated fees and court costs, and provide appropriate written materials to the clients that may be required to properly proceed with mediation.
